A Houston community art program

Big art, made by little hands.

Little Artists is a grassroots initiative that gives all youth an equitable place to imagine, create, and connect with each other. This summer we carried that all the way to Ghana.

Cost-Free Art Lessons

Our young artists, ages 6–12, gather to draw, paint, sculpt, and experiment with new materials, guided by talented high-school and working artists from the Houston community.

Cultural Exchange

Our 2026 trip to Accra let our artists share their work, learn from Ghanaian students and teachers, and bring new inspiration home.

Community Powered

Little Artists runs on donations, volunteer hours, and community sponsors. Every bit of support shows up directly in what our kids get to create.

Our Summer in Ghana

In July and August, Little Artists travelled from Houston to Accra and ran a Cultural Arts Exchange and Children's Arts Festival with Achimota Anglican Basic School, in collaboration with Care for Society Network International. Seven days of art lessons, a closing festival for the whole neighbourhood, and supplies and lesson guides that stayed behind when we flew home.

July 25 – Aug 4, 2026 Houston → Accra Art lessons + arts festival

Why Ghana?

A significant share of school-aged children in Ghana lack access to quality learning opportunities, and arts education is scarcer still. At the same time, Ghana is a place of deeply vibrant arts and culture, from textiles to sculpture to storytelling, which made it a powerful place to bring cost-free arts education that supports local youth long-term. It was also a chance for our own young artists to learn and grow: art is a universal language, and the trip let our students see firsthand how creativity connects people across different backgrounds.

Our story

"Every kid deserves real tools, real mentorship, and a real audience. We make creating art free and possible for young artists across Houston, because creativity is a universal language and community is how we speak it."

Little Artists is a community art program based in Houston, giving young artists ages 6–12 a creative home base, and this year the chance to take that creativity abroad.
